Telecommunications company Qcell has distributed Ramadan Iftar food items to several mosques across Sierra Leone as part of its corporate social responsibility activities.

The initiative took place during the holy month of Ramadan, when Muslims fast from dawn to sunset and gather in the evening to break their fast, known as Iftar.

Members of the Qcell marketing team visited different mosques to present the food items to worshippers. The company said the gesture was aimed at supporting Muslim communities and promoting unity and compassion during the sacred period.

According to the team, Ramadan is a time for sharing and caring for others. They said the company felt it was important to support worshippers who gather daily at mosques to break their fast.

“Ramadan is a time of compassion, sharing and togetherness. As a company that serves the people of Sierra Leone, we believe it is important to support communities during this holy month,” the team said.

Qcell also expressed appreciation to its customers across the country, noting that the support of Sierra Leoneans has helped the company grow since it began operations.

“We are grateful for the love and support we have received over the years. This distribution is one way for us to give back to the communities we serve,” the team added.

Worshippers who received the food items thanked the company for the gesture, describing the donation as timely during Ramadan.

They said the items would help provide meals for people who gather at mosques to break their fast at sunset.

“We appreciate Qcell for remembering the Muslim community during this important month. We pray that Allah continues to bless the company and its staff,” one worshipper said.

The initiative highlights Qcell’s efforts not only to provide telecommunications services but also to support communities and humanitarian activities across Sierra Leone.
