At the SLFA Academy on April 27, 2026, second-placed Star Sport Academy, with 46 points, faced off against sixth-placed Bhantal FC, who currently hold 37 points. The game ended in a 0-0 stalemate, with both teams showcasing strong defensive performances and determined efforts to break the deadlock.
Bhantal FC relied heavily on the experience of their goalkeeper Alhaji Sesay, whose numerous crucial saves kept the visitors in the game. Both sides made several substitutions in an attempt to shift the momentum, but neither could capitalise on their chances.
Star Sport Academy dominated possession and created more clear-cut opportunities, especially in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net. A standout performer was Bhantal FC defender Yeami Dunia, whose timely interceptions and strong defensive work frustrated Star Sport’s attacking threats. Dunia’s efforts earned him the Man of the Match award.
The draw sees Star Sport Academy maintain their position near the top of the league table, while Bhantal FC pick up a valuable point in their push to climb higher. Both teams will look to build on this solid defensive display as the season progresses.
