Authorities of the Mambolo Chiefdom, Constituency 061 in the North-West region, following rigorous vetting, stakeholder engagement, and community consultations, have unanimously concluded that Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is an ideal individual for any leadership responsibilities entrusted to him. They stated that Dr. Bangura has successfully met all the benchmarks they established to test his leadership experiences. The authorities noted that they have tested him rigorously on various occasions and in different capacities, and he has consistently proven his capability.
Six major assessment exams set for Dr. Bangura by his Mambolo people:
1. The sharing of his donations to members of other political parties with no reactions from him,
2. Many a time, they have hosted him and the former SLPP Ambassador to Guinea, Amb. Alimamy Bangura, in which Dr. Bangura always proven to be a good leader,
3. They have not heard of any hate speech comes from him,
4. His clean tract records,
5. His respectful to the community, and
6. His developmental ideas.
With this, they expressed complete satisfaction with his leadership skills, able to manage pressure, integrity, dedication, maturity, developmental innovations and his ability to bring peace.
Mambolo Chiefdom
Mambolo is chiefdom in the Kambia District of Sierra Leone with a population of 33,825. Its principal town is also named Mambolo. The chiefdom represented by an APC Member of Parliament and four WARDS, such as Ward 204, 205, 206 and 207 respectively. Out of this number three of the Councillors are APC and one is an SLPP
How this information was gathered
Few days ago, the author of this article went to Mambolo chiefdom and interviewed a number of authorities there including:
1. The Mambolo Paramount Chief, (P C.) Bai Sherora Lion II,
2. Pa Adilaki Koroma, who spoke on behalf of Tombo Wallah section Chief,
3. Mr. Issa Sorieba Kamara, APC Chairman for Constituency 061 in Mambolo,
4. Mohamed Kanu, a youth leader representing Bike Riders union executive,
5. Mr. Silla Y. Kargbo, SLPP constituency 061 chairman (Mambolo),
6. Mr. Mohamed Suma, National Ground Coalition (NGC) chiefdom chairman (Mambolo), and
7. Madam Sia Gborie, Coalition for Change (C4C) ward 205 chairlady (Mambolo),
In sharing of Dr. Bangura donations
The Mambolo Paramount Chief, P.C Bai Sherora Lion II, said that he has been systematically channeling all philanthropic and development support received from Dr. Ibrahim Bangura to authorities concerned, but not limited to the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) constituency’s leadership for their own quota including the recent 200 bags of rice donations.
“Yes, I have been distributing Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s support within the chiefdom to all authorities with no political bias, and he has never made any comment about it,” the
P.C. said, adding that the sharing of his support to members of other political parties was not only because the entire chiefdom recognizes Dr. Bangura as a son of the soil, but rather testing what could have been his reactions. The chief-cum-President said that he does it also to ensure that the resources are effectively apportioned and distributed directly to every stakeholder in the chiefdom for a wider range recipient.
They noted that, based on their long-term observation of his character, Dr. Bangura’s humility and accessibility set him apart from others. They added that he has been an integral part of their development efforts, supporting education, agriculture, healthcare, and women’s empowerment.
The Mambolo Paramount Chief, who also doubles as the President of the Sierra Leone Transport Boat Owners Association, Chief Bai Shebura Lion II, said Dr. Bangura has solidified his position as a formidable leader capable of driving meaningful change; adding to his academic pedigree, professional experience, grassroots connection, and proven track record make him the standard choice.
Developmental projects of Dr. Bangura in Mambolo
While commending the construction of their 16 mile road from Mangie Bureh Town to Mambolo by one of their sons, Hon. Alimamy Petito Koroma that is now use by everyone, the chief added that Dr. Bangura interventions are highly beneficial to the entire community. These include:
1. Entrepreneurship training,
2. Agricultural training,
3. Microfinance training,
4. Small and Medium Enterprise training,
5. Health education,
6. Regular food donations, and
7. Seed money assistance.
History of Dr. Ibrahim Bangura’s national political journey
In 2018 general elections, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura introduced a door-to-door campaign strategy with a team of young people of which the author of this article served as the Deputy team lead of that team. During his campaign process, Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, the APC party lead flagbearer aspirant, made personal donations, held peace talks, trained, and provide advice and mentorship to many communities including his home of Mambolo.
Dr. Ibrahim Bangura, a prominent stakeholder in the district, has been actively supporting community development initiatives and party mobilization across the country.
SLPP chairman’s testimony
Confirming the news, the SLPP chairman for Constituency 061 in Mambolo, Mr. Silla Y. Kargbo, said he had received multiple gifts of Dr. Bangura’s support via the Paramount Chief on behalf of his SLPP members. Mr. Kargbo, who is also both the sitting Councillor for Ward 207 (elected through the Proportional Representation system) and a senior teacher at Scarcies Baptist Secondary School in Mambolo told this author in his school office: “Dr. Ibrahim Bangura is highly respected among stakeholders, not for his wealth, but for both his leadership and mentorship abilities he possess. I have received Dr. Bangura’s gifts including the recent rice donation which the Paramount Chief sent to me to be distributed to my SLPP members,” Mr. Kargbo said. The SLPP chairman said Dr. Bangura has proven that he is a leader.
Mr. Kargbo expressed gratitude to both the Paramount Chief for his neutrality and transparency and to Dr. Bangura for his continuous support toward the welfare of the people in the chiefdom without discrimination. Local stakeholders have also praised the mechanism, noting that it minimizes conflict and ensures equitable distribution of resources within the jurisdiction.
NGC senior member’s testimony
Mohamed Suma, a senior member of the National Grand Coalition (NGC) in Mambolo, said his party has not been left out of anything that comes to the chiefdom. He said his party has always being a beneficiary of Dr. Bangura’s supports. Mr. Suma ended by calling other stakeholders to bring together all sons and daughters of the Chiefdom to support Dr. Ibrahim Bangura.
C4C party Ward member
Madam Sia Gborie, a strong member of the Coalition for Change (C4C) party, told this writer in Ro-Mando village that their share of all Dr. Bangura’s projects has been reaching them and her C4C members despite not being APC supporters. “All APC executive members know us that we are supporting C4C, but the good thing is, we live here as a family and Dr. Ibrahim Bangura has proven to be a good leader. That is why we are going to join our people in the chiefdom to support Dr. Bangura,” Madam Gborie said, added that Dr. Bangura’s intention is going to be fully supported by them.
