The five-day FIVB Level One Coaches Course, sponsored by Olympic Solidarity, through the NOC-SLE, commenced yesterday 21st November 2022 in the North-western city of Port Loko.
29 out of the 35 participants drawn from the 22 clubs, 5 districts and regions registered with the NF made it to Port Loko for the training programme. 12 of the 29 participants are women representing 41% of the total number of participants.
The emphasis of the NF in the last couple of months has been professionalism and this involves improving on the technical competences of our coaches and match officials.
Mohamed Khalil Ibrahim Khalil, the Jordanian FIVB instructor expressed optimism given the experiences and age representation of the participants.
He cautioned against over confidence since the course would require theory and practical examination for certification and recognition by the FIVB.
Support for trainee coaches and the instructor is provided by our own local experts in the persons of Mohamed Vangahun as Course Supervisor and Sorie Kamara as Course Coordinator.
