The personnel in the Mile 91 Police Division, on Sunday, 27th April 2025, arrested a huge amount of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa in Makondu village, Yoni Mabanta Chiefdom, in the Northern District of Tonkolili.
During the interception, two people allegedly found in possession of the suspected cannabis sativa were also arrested.
Upon intelligence and under the supervision of the local unit commander, Superintendent Ishmael Koroma of the Mile 91 Police Division, on Sunday, 27th April 2025, at 10:30 hours, a team of police officers led by DSP Sao Conteh, operations officer, arrested and brought in Ya Makapr Kamara (female) and Aiah Abu Conteh (male), both of Makondu village.

According to the report, at around 09:00 hours in Makondu village in the Yoni Mabanta Chiefdom, the latter persons were found in possession of sixteen bundles of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa without lawful authority.
Voluntary caution and interview statements were obtained from both suspects, according to the Mile 91 Division Local Unit Commander.
As part of the investigations, both suspects have been placed in custody, helping with the investigation, and the matter, together with the two suspects, has been transferred to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) Headquarters at Hastings in Freetown.
The local unit commander has assured the public of the commitment of his team to ensure he weeds out people suspected to be criminals and threats to society within his operational areas.
