A local non-governmental organisation, Prevention First Initiative, with support from the UN Peace building Fund and its partners, is going round the nation giving out messages to members of the Bike Riders Union (BRU) in the country to be peace ambassadors at all times and wherever they find themselves.
Addressing participants at both training centres, the Kenema District Council conference hall and at the Bike Riders Union office at the Ha For Do Lorry Park.

Addressing participants at both training centres, Binty Phibian Fofanah, Human Resource and Administrative Manager of the Prevention First Initiative, disclosed that the training for Kenema district is for four days in two segments.
In the Kenema district, the four-day Council conference engagement happened at the Kenema District Council conference hall, Nyandeyama Road, where participants gained knowledge in sexual and gender-based violence, reproductive health and family planning.
Similar training also happened at the Bike Riders Union office at Ha For Do Lorry Park, where participants, commercial youth motorbike riders, gained knowledge in advocacy, communication, negotiation, leadership and conflict prevention.

Hawa Titty Mansaray, a commercial motorbike rider, thanked the organisers of the session, positively describing it as a positive move in the right direction for the development of the nation.
She called on the donors to do more for the Sierra Leoneans’ Prevention First Initiative for more implementation so that more Sierra Leoneans standing out there will benefit.
She promised on behalf of the participants that they will make good use of the knowledge gained so that the community will continue to benefit.
