The SLFA FA Cup draw took place at the Orange Digital Centre in Freetown on April 4th, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the country’s football calendar.
The Chairman of the SLFA Organising Committee, Osman Turay, presided over the event, which saw 14 district qualifiers join the 18 Premier League clubs in the round of 32.
Turay expressed his excitement, stating, “This is a very important occasion, and I congratulate the 14 district qualifiers who have worked hard to reach this stage. I am confident that the committee,
under the leadership of President Babadi Kamara and his executive, will ensure a fair and transparent tournament.”
The draw resulted in several intriguing matchups, including the clash between AI Kallon and FC Kallon, as well as the encounter between Bo Rangers FC and Gbindi FC. Head of Competition,
Sorie Ibrahim Sesay explained the process, emphasising the significance of the FA Cup as an annual knockout competition organised by the SLFA.
The winner of this year’s edition will represent Sierra Leone in the 2026-2027 CAF Confederation Cup, adding to the anticipation and excitement surrounding the tournament.
