As sierra Leone returns to CAF club tournament FC Kallon who represent Sierra Leone in the CAF confederation cup after finishing 3rd in the just concluded Sierra Leone premier league behind champions Bo Rangers and the runners up east end lions.
After East End Lions who suppose to have play the CAF confederation cup withdrew from the registration process the Sierra Leone football association were left with no option than to turn attention to 3rd place side FC Kallon, after the football association informed Fc Kallon that east end lions will not participate in this year CAF confederation cup they will want to register Fc Kallon in the CAF confederation cup and they were willing to participate in this year CAF confederation cup and then they complete the registration process through the SLFA and they were drawn against Buffles of Benin.
With the first leg scheduled to play in Benin on September 9th 2022 and the return leg will play a week later at SKD stadium in Liberia due to the renovation of the national Siaka Stevens stadium so FC Kallon moved all their home matches to their close neighbour.
The CEO who is Mohamed Kallon has returned from America to serve as the head coach for FC Kallon with his vast experience at African competitions, he was the last player that scored the qualifying goal for the team with a masterpiece free kick in 2012 against Union Sportive Douala from Cameroon after the first leg ended 1-0 for the Cameroonian FC Kallon were like energetic enough with a comeback in the return leg when they won by 2-1 on an aggregate.
However they were eliminated by the Worri Wolves of Nigeria after the team put up an excellent performance at the national Siaka Stevens stadium in Freetown, Sierra Leone when it ended 0-0 and the return leg in Nigeria end 2-0 against FC Kallon so they were eliminated.
After ten years they have not been playing they finally have their way back at the CAF confederation cup with a 1-0 win against Buffles of Benin.
Both teams were executing an excellent football for their fans and the atmosphere as both teams were formidable and they have young and exuberant players.
The goal came in the 64 minutes of play when Mohamed Sesay converted the very best opportunity at the back of the net for FC Kallon.
The winning for FC Kallon have given them a big chance for the team to make it through to the next stage of the competition. At least a draw at the SKD Stadium will take them to the next stage.
