The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) in a Press Conference has informed the general public about the two upcoming friendly matches with South Africa and DR Congo.
The Head Coach for Leone Stars, John Keister looks upon these friendly matches as competitive preparation for the national team, and said they are also matches to identify a lot of players for the national team.
“These friendly matches are not all about winning; they are also about identifying and setting up the right players for the national team,” Keister said.
He spoke about the list of players that will be taking part in the two friendly games on the 24th in Johannesburg, and on the 27th in DR Congo.
He explained that those players that were not mentioned on the list like Issa Kallon, Sullay Kai Kai, Alhaji Kamara, Mustapha Bundu, Alhassan Koroma and Alie Sesay were left out due to certain conditions and documentary issues.
Mr. Mohamed Benson Bawoh, the Deputy General Secretary of the SLFA, spoke about the huge financial support from the Government of Sierra Leone for both engagements.
