The Sierra Leone Athletics Association has finally secured an office at #22 Wellington Street in central Freetown, thanks to Martin Momoh Bangura, its resilient administrator.
Supporters of athletics say this is a clear demonstration of his leadership to move the SLAA from business as usual to business proper. This has never been achieved in the history of the Association, in securing an office space for the sole use of the running of the affairs of the SLAA’S administration.
The move to a prominent location within the Central Business District is one of Mr. Bangura’s manifesto promises to the Athletics family and the nation as a whole. This came about as a result of the support of his Executive to put finances together to rent this apartment amidst resistance from several quarters.
The President said that they have a mandate to deliver to the Athletics family and the people of Sierra Leone.
He called on all Sporting Bodies, Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs), State Owned Enterprise (SOEs), other Business Houses both private and public; Embassies, and other Non-Governmental Organizations, to support the SLAA should feel free to do so.
