In preparation for the pivotal fundraising luncheon on November 16, the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation convened a crucial meeting yesterday with chairladies from various communities engaged in the foundation’s programs. This event, set to take place at CB’s Restaurant, Maritime House, is designed to raise essential funds dedicated to empowering widows and underprivileged women.

Hawa Bintu Dauda, acting programs officer for the foundation, firmly welcomed the chair ladies, underscoring their critical role in ensuring the event’s success. “This luncheon is more than just an event; it’s a powerful opportunity to instill hope and drive positive change for widows and their families. Your involvement and support are vital to this mission,” Dauda declared, stressing the importance of the chairladies’ engagement in raising awareness and galvanizing community participation.

Influential leaders such as Agness Waggay from Congo Town, Umu Kamara from Hill Cut, and Posseh Kanu from Falcon Street attended the meeting at the foundation’s office. The chair ladies expressed their commitment and determination to drive ticket sales and increase community engagement. “We see it as our duty to uplift the widows in our community,” asserted Agness Waggay. “We are prepared to spread the word and rally support for this event.”

The luncheon is not merely a fundraising effort; it is a strategic initiative to strengthen community ties and offer citizens an opportunity to effect real change. With ticket prices set between Le50 and Le500, organizers are ensuring that participation is accessible to all who share the foundation’s vision.

For Umu Kamara from Hill Cut, this event is particularly significant. “Our efforts directly empower our sisters who have lost their husbands and are struggling to support their families,” she stated emphatically. “We are not just selling tickets; we are selling hope and solidarity.”

Dauda reinforced the necessity of community collaboration, asserting that the funds raised will support a range of vital programs, including economic empowerment initiatives, skills training, and the establishment of social support networks. “Your unwavering support enables us to expand our programs and make a meaningful impact on more lives,” she urged the chair ladies to further mobilize their networks and engage more community members.

As the luncheon draws near, the Jamil and Nyanga Jaward Foundation is confident that this strong partnership with community leaders will significantly amplify the event’s outreach and impact. Posseh Kanu from Falcon Street emphasized, “It’s an honour to collaborate with the foundation. Together, we will create substantial opportunities for the women who need it most.”

With the chair ladies expressing strong enthusiasm and commitment, the foundation is poised not only to exceed its fundraising goals but also to further solidify the community’s dedication to empowering its most vulnerable members.
