In a significant boost to the Sierra Leone Women’s National Team, football legend Mohamed Kallon recently visited the squad’s training session as they gear up for their crucial 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Benin.
Kallon, renowned for his illustrious career with the Sierra Leone men’s national team, took time out to share his technical expertise and help build the confidence of the women’s team players. The visit comes at a critical juncture as the team prepares for the first leg, set to take place on February 20, 2025, at Stade de Kegue in Lome, Togo, and the second leg is scheduled for February 24, 2025, at the SKD Stadium in Liberia.
It was an honor to have Mohamed Kallon, one of our country’s greatest footballers, come and work with the women’s national team, said the team’s coach. His insights and guidance have been invaluable as we intensify our preparations for the upcoming qualifiers against Benin.
