The District Health Management Team (DHMT) Kenema, with support from partners, on Saturday, 19th July, 2025, officially commissioned the DHMT Complex along Maxwell Khobe Street in Kenema, where several stakeholders across the nation graced the ceremony.

In his statement, Dr. Sartie M. Kenneh, Chief Medical Officer, thanks all and sundry for their support in diverse ways, especially the local authorities of Kenema District. He described public health as all putting hands together and working in the interest of the public in health delivery. Adding the example in Kenema is a plus to the health sector of the nation.

Dr. Patricia Bah, Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer of Sierra Leone, called on the nurses to maintain the kind of respect the community is giving out to them by always being in their uniforms while on duty and going by the oath of the nursing profession. By so doing, those who come into the health facilities to create trouble will be easily identified.

The paramount chief of Dama, who also doubles as chairman of the Council of Paramount Chiefs of Kenema District, PC Alhaji Momoh Fowai, said Dr. Donald S. Grant is their humble and committed son who respects all authorities in the Kenema District, and his collaboration and hard work in the district have yielded such great achievements. He mentioned that he has been supportive of his health staff to continue to provide quality health services in the district.

He appealed to the Ministry of Health authorities to continue to support him in every way so that he can do more for all in Kenema. Chief Fowai describes the complex as an indelible ink in the minds of all in the region.
