The Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) has started the hearings on a formal complaint filed by former Vice-President Sam-Sumana against the All People’s Congress (APC).
The complaint, submitted by Sam-Sumana earlier, accuses the APC of not following its own rules when it dealt with his membership status and his ambitions within the party.
The PPRC emphasised that its role is to ensure political parties operate within the law and that any internal party decisions must respect both party constitutions and the national constitution.
The APC leadership has reacted by urging Sam-Sumana to reconsider his move — they say he should engage within the party structures rather than immediately escalating to the PPRC.
As the hearings proceed, many observers view this case as important for how political parties in Sierra Leone handle internal disputes and rules around membership, leadership eligibility, and transparency.
