The communities of Nyandeyama and Makoloh villages, with over 50 beneficiaries, on Saturday, 18th April 2026, have concluded an intensive skills education through the pilot project funded by Brot für die Welt in Nyandeyama Village and Makoloh Villages in the Kenema and Port Loko Districts, respectively.

The project targeted young women and girls, including out-of-school girls and pregnant teens, to acquire skills in dressmaking, event management, weaving, and soap making.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at the District Council Hall, Kenema, the keynote speaker, Madam Abibatu Amara, Gender Officer, Kenema District Ministry of Gender, appreciated the efforts of the learned and the facilitators for the commitment to the human capital development of disadvantaged women and youths, noting that the skills obtained will contribute to the human capital development in the local communities.

Abigail Suwu-Kaindoh, Esq., Founder and Director of the organization, highlighted the prospects of empowering young women in achieving the sustainable development goals (Goals 3 and 4).

Other distinguished speakers and religious leaders Sheik Yusif Suwu, chief imam of the Gbo Lamabayama section; Pastor Kaisamba, resident pastor of Sent Ministry; Madam Isha Cole, representative of the 50/50 Group; and Ms. Nafisatu Kamara expressed gratitude to the organization and the beneficiaries, encouraging them to continue to develop their skills as entrepreneurs while helping the development of their families.

Among the graduates of the 2026 cohort were Ms. Hawa H. Kawa, president; Mrs. Magdalene Kamara; and Ms. Isha Fofanah, chairladies.

The distribution of certificates and fundraising climaxed the occasion.
