State counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay, in response, said that from the last adjourned date to now, all that the defense has come to court with is a story.
He said that by virtue of their last application to the High Court for the accused to go on medical leave, which has not been renewed, is a contempt of court.
The accused, he said, has disobeyed the court as the application for her to travel on medical leave has elapsed.
According to him, that was not how it was supposed to be, so the court can no longer continue to tolerate their action, noting further that they want to proceed with their matter. Magistrate Bangura, having listened to both sides, ordered the sureties to produce the accused Patricia Laverly on the next adjourned date or will take the necessary action.
The matter was adjourned to the 5th of February, 2025.
It could be recalled that the accused Patricia Laverly is before the court for assaulting the Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Madam Nabila Farida Tunis.
