Pole Organisation, a community-based organisation, has donated construction materials and educational scholarships to benefit the Leicester Road Community.
The organisation contributed 20 bags of cement – ten each to Hip Pop Street and Pole areas – along with one trip of sand specifically earmarked for the ongoing road construction project connecting Berry Street to Leicester Road Community.
Joseph Kamara, Chairman of Pole Organisation, emphasised the organisation’s sustained commitment to community development. “This is not the first time we are donating to Leicester Road Community. We have made this an annual tradition,” Kamara stated.
The organisation’s support extends beyond infrastructure to education. Following a committee selection process for outstanding academic performers, two female students – Adiatu Bangura and Fatima Bangura – who both achieved an aggregate score of 14 in their BECE examinations, were awarded 2.5 million old leones each. Additionally, Emmanuel Dumbuya, a current student at Limkokwing University, received 10,000 old leones to support his studies.
Mohamed S. Kamara, Secretary General of the Pole Organisation, explained that the scholarship programme began last year after establishing a committee to identify students with exceptional academic results. “We are doing this as an organisation to motivate others to do more,” he noted.
Parents expressed gratitude for the timely intervention. “We are currently facing challenges paying our children’s school fees. We thank the Pole Organisation for this wonderful gesture, as we want our children to become educated,” one parent shared.
Community stakeholder Aminu Mansaray highlighted the practical impact of the road construction support, stating, This support from the Pole Organisation concerning the road construction will help us a lot as a community.
