On the passage of Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Thursday 8 September 2022, at Balmoral Castle, Scotland, the leading aspirant for the race of the flagbearership for the main opposition, the All People’s Congress (APC) party, Dr Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, has mourned her death by paying a courtesy call on the British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Her Excellency Lisa Chesney.
During the visit on Monday 12th September 2022, Dr Samura Kamara signed the book of condolence at the office of the British High Commissioner.
Being the queen of the United Kingdom and of the Commonwealth, and also as the longest serving monarch since her inauguration on February 1952 until her death in September 2022, Dr Samura Kamara expressed his feelings over her loss.
“This is a difficult time for the entire Royal family, the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth,” he said.
Reflecting on the kind of personality she was, Dr Samura Kamara said “The Queen was a kind, patient and humble leader, who embodied the culture, innovation and tolerance of Britain and the Commonwealth. She will always be in our thoughts and prayers.”
He wished her perpetual light and perfect peace as she has gone to her true world. As she would be laid to rest on Monday 19 September 2022, Dr Samura Kamara extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and sympathizers across the world.
Congratulating him on his ascension to the throne, Dr Samura Kamara also extended his warmest message of good wishes, good health, happiness and every success to the new monarch of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth, King Charles III.
“Long live our gracious king,” he said delightedly.
