As the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) marks the inaugural 100 days (13th March, 2025) of Major General Amara Idara Bangura’s tenure as Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), his leadership has already etched an indelible mark on the institution. Driven by a profound commitment to personnel welfare and operational excellence, Major General Bangura’s strategic reforms are redefining the RSLAF’s trajectory, fostering stability, and inspiring confidence across the ranks.

Understanding that a motivated force is the bedrock of national security, the CDS prioritized the review of critical policies affecting troops and their families. Key initiatives include overhauling the Marriage Assistance Policy, Funeral Purse, and DPC Welfare Policy to better support personnel during life’s pivotal moments.
